Bob's Music First, a little history: Bob Wrenn is a Professor Emeritus in Psychology
from the University of Arizona whose second career has always been music. His interest in music began as an early child with lessons on the clarinet. In High School he formed a jazz
band called Wrenn's Ramblers where he played tenor sax. Shortly thereafter, he took four years of classical piano and decided that this was his instrument of choice. His main love is
in the improvisational nature of solo and small group work. Bob especially enjoys playing the old standards from his childhood in the 30's, 40's and 50's. He has played in Tucson, AZ,
where he has lived for the past 42 years. Bob's performances have included engagements with John Denman ( principal clarinetist for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra), Bob Crosby ( Bing's younger brother),
Phyllis Diller, Jack Carson and on the movie set of Old Tucson with Liz Taylor, George Hamilton and Tom Skerritt.
And now, the music:
My first album is called Songs of Love, piano solos
by yours truly. Wonderful old ballads professionally recorded. My second CD is entitled Days of Wine and Roses and is my jazz quartet - piano, guitar, bass and drums.
My third CD is entitled The Song is You; 5 tunes with piano and bass and 18 tunes with vocals from the yesteryears. My fourth and most recent CD is entitled Takin' It Easy, with 17
cocktail hour, background piano solos that are easy to listen to. The cover jacket of each CD describes my intention for the music I included on the CD, as well as something about the music itself.
Below is a list of my available CDs. Click on the name of any CD to find out more
about it and to hear samples from that CD.
